Stickers , memes or audios can be fun on WhatsApp, the instant messaging app created in 2009 and now owned by Facebook , but they won’t give you more than a few laughs and anecdotes. WhatsApp is, said the CEO of BIOS Instala , an influential tool to exponentially grow your company or venture.

“It is a way to reach many more people with less effort, taking advantage of information technologies,” he says. “When you send a WhatsApp message, the person does see it and attend to it, when they are ready for it, unlike what happens with messages or emails,” he added.

More than 57 million Mexicans, according to eMarketer , use this instant messaging app. Mexico is thus the fifth country with the most users, after Indonesia, the United States, Brazil and, at the top, India. Even so, WhatsApp Marketing’s strategy is barely two years old in the world market.

“It is an innovative trend and it is going to be on the rise in the next five years. Almost no company in Mexico, and practically in the world, is using this strategy, so those that do know it have an important competitive advantage ”, Zepeda pointed out.

Other marketing strategies such as email marketing – based on mass mailing – barely have an open rate of 15 percent; WhatsApp Marketing would reach, Zepeda estimated, more than 90 percent.
